Sevillanas!

Hello there and welcome to the first ever La Vina Liverpool blog!

Here, different people are going to write their experiences at La Vina and let you know what we have been up to.

So lets get this ball rolling then shall we!

Sevillanas

As I myself have about as much rhythm and grace as a baby elephant on water skis, we thought it might be a good idea to let others provide the entertainment on Thursday night and Maria and Hector answered the call.

As the customers settled and enjoyed their food and drink, out of the mysterious door that leads to the staff area arrived the most colourful dress I think I have ever laid my eyes on! The entire restaurant was aghast, amazed to see our very own Maria dressed up to the rafters, ready for action.

And what a show they put on for us! I think its safe to say everyone in the restaurant loved it. I was working and couldn't keep my eyes from the spinning, clapping, stamping unraveling before me! In fact I enjoyed it so much, I stayed for a well earned pint after work to watch the rest of the performance.

The bar was very busy with lots of friends of Hector and Marias', keen experts in the field of flamenco dancing. I was informed that this particular type was called Sevillanas and that the dancers in question were perfect for the job as they hail from Seville. I wonder if everyone would be as impressed if I started clog dancing in the middle of the restaurant?...

Probably not.

Either way, it was a fantastic night enjoyed by all and a massive thanks to Maria and Hector for sharing their talent with the rest of us. I look forward to another night where we can all enjoy the dancing again and who knows, I may even have a little go....

Now that would be something to watch!

Keep looking out for more blogs from myself and others on our blog :)
